What’s included
By giving a time commitment of less than one hour per week, you will have the knowledge and confidence that you are on top of everything.
Week 1: Understanding your duty of care
What starts out as just another normal busy day for van driver Bob Adams quickly turns sour as Bob is involved in a crash on the way to his first stop. Fleet Manager Stella Adams is quickly drawn into events after the police take a closer look at Bob’s van and find a number of problems with how Bob and his van were being managed. Our series of 10 short videos takes delegates through the story in detail, examining 20 faults made by Bob and Stella that played a part in the incident.
Week 2: Your 10 Most Important Tasks
Driving for Better Business is a free to access government-backed National Highways programme to help employers reduce work-related road risk, protecting staff who drive or ride for work and others with who they may share the road. Its mission is to improve the levels of compliance for all those who drive or ride for work by sharing good practice and demonstrating the significant business benefits of managing work-related road risk more effectively.
Campaign Manager Simon Turner talks delegates through 10 of the most important tasks a Fleet Manager has to do to ensure they meet their duty of care requirements.
Week 3: Creating your Driving for Work policy
One of the most important tasks is creating a comprehensive Driving for Work policy that clearly sets out the rules and standards that you want your van drivers to follow. In Week 3, we explain what needs to go in your policy and why, and we give you example wording to use for each section. At the end of this module you’ll have a brand new comprehensive Driving for Work policy that you can share with your drivers.
Week 4: Communicating your policy and setting up your systems
In the final week of our Challenge, delegates get free access to the FleetCheck Driver management system in order to share their Driving for Work policy with drivers and document the distribution and approval process. A 40-minute private session with one of our fleet management experts will show you how to do this and also help you set up your ongoing driver and vehicle management systems so you have complete confidence that you’ll be managing your fleet correctly.
